Not much different than the regular lense, except it compromises the quality of the photos (grainy) and casts a semi circular shadow when using the flash. Not recommended!

I have used this lense for a lot of different purposes for work and for my personall use and the pictures with the wide angle sure are wonderful when I have wide pictures to take

This is a great lens. Sharp as a tack. Very very light. It's Japanese, that says it all.

Works very well with my Sony HC1. Not sure about the technical terms but field of view is noticeably increased with little, if any, distortion. As with the telephoto, images are sharp and bright. Quality lens.

I returned this item. I have not received notice that they did receive it back so I will have to wait and see if my credit card account is credited.

I am totally impressed with this lens. The main reason: It is a REAL wide angle lens. It is also has real metal and glass makeup. I bought a Sony VCL 0737Y, it was a 0.7x. It didn't do anything. The frame is plastic, the lens is big, and to top it all off, it did not increase my field of view that much.
This lens is completely opposite. ! The glass is superb, I can capture an entire inside of a room without panning. There is no curving of the image whatsoever.
Thank you

I ourchased this lens for my Canon HV10 camcorder to expand my wide angle viewing options. I have had other lenses for an eariler camera, and was very happy with them. While not a fisheye lens (and therefore not allowing for fisheye effects), the lens definitely increases the field of view dramatically. Pictures taken with the lens are very sharp with no distortion, as sometimes happens with accessory lenses. The only issue I have had is the lens does add weight and bulk to the camera while in use, but it is well worth it for wide shots.

Nice addition to my HDR HC7. There is 1 reason I gave it 3 stars rather than 4. (I do not rate anything 5 stars)
When I zoomed out, while the lens is on, it started to show softness. I called the salesman and he did clarify that a wide lens cannot go past a certain point before that will happen with any conversion lens. I think he's right, so I must take the lens off if I intend to zoom out. Minor inconvenience.

This lens is awesome for those special places that the 35mm field of view is too limiting. I bought this lens to use aboard my boat to capture a wide angle view of our surroundings. I am happy with the results.

I don't think you can get a better lens than this. No curves, no noise. I'm using it in the Sony HDR HC7, and the quality is spectacular.
